Beatrice : Impact report

This report, published in March 2023, shows that the Beatrice Community Fund invested £6 million in the local communities during the construction and operation of the offshore wind farm.

 

The report highlights the impact of the wind farm on local jobs, skills creation and enhancing community assets. The report also highlights the impact of the investments against the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

BEATRICE PARTNERSHIP FUND

The Beatrice offshore wind farm has a community fund worth a total of £6m to benefit groups and organisations in the Highlands and Moray.

In December 2016, we launched the first of the two fund elements - the 'Beatrice Partnership Fund'.

In July 2021, the Partnership Fund awarded its final round of grants totalling more than £646,000.

The fund has now issued the full £3m that was available and is closed to applications.

BEATRICE CAITHNESS LOCAL FUND

Open for applications from 3 May 2017 the fund is worth £2m over five years.

The funds will be managed by the SSE Community Investment team alongside a representative panel of community members who decide which applications are funded.

BEATRICE MORAY LOCAL FUND

The Beatrice Moray Local Fund was launched on 12 July 2017 and will provide a total of £1m over a period of five years for investment in projects in the following four Moray community council areas:

  • Buckie and District

  • Keith

  • Lennox

  • Strathisla
